This Privacy Policy describes how EWUMate ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use the EWUMate mobile application (Android) or the Web PWA application (available at app.ewumate.pro.bd). EWUMate is built as an open-source utility suite for students of East West University (EWU).

2. Data Collection & Storage (Local First)

EWUMate is designed around a "local-first" privacy model. The vast majority of your academic and utility data is kept locally on your mobile device or web browser memory, meaning we do not transmit it to any external server. This applies to:

• Schedules & Routines: All generated class routines and locked sections are saved locally on your device's memory.
• GPA Records: Grades entered into the CGPA calculator are processed locally and are never transmitted to us.
• Task Lists & Deadlines: Your assignment deadlines, homework cards, and reminders are saved strictly on your local database.

3. Shared Academic Resources (Study Vault)

If you choose to upload resources (slides, notes, syllabus guidelines, past papers) to the Study Vault, these materials are sent to our database. When uploading, we collect the document, class code, and department category. No personal identifiers (like your student ID) are appended to these public resources unless you write them inside the uploaded files.

4. Third-Party Services

To deliver features like push notifications and to monetize the application to cover server costs, we utilize trusted third-party SDKs. These companies have their own privacy policies governing data usage:

• Google AdMob: We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in specific non-obtrusive areas of the app (banners and interstitial slots). AdMob collects device identifiers (e.g., Android Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads and perform analytics. Read Google's Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Services (Google): We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver push notifications. Device tokens are generated anonymously to route notification packets to your phone. Read Firebase Privacy details.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Because your data resides locally on your device, you have complete control over its retention. Uninstalling the EWUMate application or clearing your web browser data for app.ewumate.pro.bd will instantly erase all your local schedules, grades, and task metrics. 6. Children's Privacy

EWUMate is tailored for university students and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has uploaded data, notify us and we will delete it immediately.
